RISD Lunch Buddies
As part of WGI’s ongoing, long-term mentoring relationship with
Richardson Independent School District (RISD), we are participating in
RISD’s Mark Twain Elementary School’s Lunch Buddy Program. Beginning
January 9th, WGI employees eat lunch and provide guidance each month with four Mark Twain Elementary students, ranging from second to
sixth grade. "Being a positive role model to help develop a brighter
future of my community’s youth is the reason I chose to participate,"
says Trenia, WGI's Customer Care Representative.
In addition to the Lunch Buddy program, WGI has developed a clothing
fund to purchase school uniforms for the elementary school students.
"Some parents can only afford one uniform for their child. We are so
excited WGI is assisting these less fortunate families, says Donna
Wade, Mark Twain Elementary School Second Grader Teacher. Plus to
support our education vision, Making the Connection: Technology and
Education—A Pathway to the Future, WGI is donating it’s services to
help Mark Twain teachers create a technology-based project to augment
the school’s American History curriculum. As a community-focused
company, WGI aims to help local organizations in any way possible.
