Junior Achievement of Dallas
Junior Achievement (JA) is the world's largest and fastest-growing
non-profit economic education organization. Its programs are taught by
classroom volunteers from the business community in both the U.S. and
nearly 100 countries worldwide. JA is dedicated to teaching students
about the basics of business and the value of staying in school.
The purpose of the specialized programs is to educate young people to
value free enterprise, understand business and economics and be
workforce ready. Junior Achievement reaches more than 2.6 million U.S.
students each year in cities, suburbs and rural areas.
Here in Richardson, WGI’s Corporate Communications Specialist, Alicia
Adams is reaching out to the community as a JA volunteer. This
semester, she is teaching two 1st grade classes at Richardson Heights
Elementary School. "At this grade level the program is very basic, yet
very pertinent," Alicia said. "My curriculum focuses on Our Families
and my students are learning basic concepts about employment,
economics and how these issues relate to them." For more information
